Note: Yukon does not use the letters D, I, Q, U, or Y, except in the first position on Government, Dealer, and Bus plates, but they did issue the BBU passenger series for some reason.
Spacing changed between G47 519 and G48023.
The letter "G" indicates a Yukon Government vehicle. Used on all sorts of vehicles, including light trucks, cars, SUVs. The first two numbers, ie "47" denote vehicle type. The 47s are SUVs. The entire 5 digits are the numbers assigned to the particular vehicle for fleet identification.
These plates are grouped by vehicle type so brand new ones from G40 and G46 are also being issued.
