Some trailers were switched to this type upon renewal in 2002, numbering started at A000000, low A000042. These replaced the last 5-year trailer plate used on many semi-trailers until final expiry 2-28-02.
Other than personalized plates, this was Michigan's first 7-character series of any type since 1932.
