Wyoming License Plates
The current Teton base first became available in Jan. 2008 for two year registrations, and in Jan. 2009 for single year registrations. As of the end of 2009, it is the only valid base in use.
County allocation system in use. Double digit counties used stacked numbers through the Devils Tower base, but the 2008-9 Teton base does not use stacked numbers.
University of Wyoming optional plates in gold on brown are now available, and they do not have stacked county prefixes. Personalized plates are not available on UW plates. Numbering on UW plates duplicates regular Passenger plates. A different letter appears on the registration, but the actual numbering on the plates is identical.
No letters are used on the 2008-9 base. Instead, the numbering is in a smaller font and has expanded to 5 digits to the right of the bucking horse.
Although registration numbers have expanded to 5 digits, Personalized plates are still limited to 4 characters after the county number and bucking horse.
